Self-Serve Concept
The self-serve concept hasn’t been around long, and it is really just starting to heat up here. It is a concept that features multiple (usually 4-8) machines built into a wall. It is a complete self-serve experience. The customer fills a cup with yogurt or soft serve choosing, with as many flavours as they wish. Then they move to the toppings area and choose from a variety of 20-40 toppings. Their product is then weighed on a scale and they pay by the ounce.

Electro Freeze is renowned for their pressurized soft serve equipment.The secret is a higher pressure pump system to help maintain a more consistent overrun using only 9 parts.Some of the competition uses a lower pressure system and some even use a "timed" instead of the most favorable method of "pressure switch" pump control. Timed pump systems can not be optimally tuned for varied product draws and exhibit excessive bubbling in their hoppers resulting in inferior product overrun.
